How much are tickets?
Tickets for all shows are $8 per student. Reduced price tickets are available for Title I schools that qualify.
Do chaperones have to pay?
Yes. However, if you reserve your class and pay the deposit before September 22, you will receive one free chaperone ticket for every 30 student tickets purchased.
How do I reserve tickets to a show?
There are two ways to reserve tickets to an Arts Discovery event:
1) Complete online reservation form.
2) Call the Carolina Theatre box office at 919-560-3030.
When do I pay for my classroom’s tickets?
A 25% deposit is due on or before September 22, 2010 for all shows. If you make a reservation after September 22, your order will not be finalized until the 25% deposit is received. No seats will be held without deposit after September 22. The balance for your order is required three weeks prior to the show. Deposits are non-refundable.
How long are the shows?
Most Arts Discovery performances are 60 minutes.
Are study guides available?
Yes. Almost every Arts Discovery performance at the Carolina Theatre has an accompanying study guide. Study guides can be found by clicking here.
Is the theatre accessible to persons with disabilities?
Yes. Please contact the box office staff to make any necessary arrangements prior to the show.
Where is the theatre located?
The Carolina Theatre is located at 309 W Morgan Street (also known as the Downtown Loop) in the heart of Downtown Durham directly adjacent to the Durham Marriott. Detailed driving directions can be found here.
What parking facilities are available and where are they located?
Bus parking is available on Morgan Street, directly in front of the theatre. Vans and cars may use the Durham Centre parking garage located across the street from the theatre.
What time should my group arrive at the theatre?
Please arrive 45 minutes before show time.
What happens when my group arrives at the theatre?
The group should remain outside while the group leader checks in with a theatre house manager in the main lobby. Doors open 30 minutes before show time. Be sure to bring your receipt. It is the admission ticket to the performance!
Where will my group sit?
All seating is general admission and is first come, first served. Theatre staff reserves the right to seat students based on age and grade level.
Where can my group eat lunch?
The theatre has limited space available for your class to eat lunch. Space is available on a first come, first serve basis. Please reserve space at the box office at 919-560-3030 well in advance of your show.
Where can my group purchase a meal?
Meals are not available for purchase from the Carolina Theatre at this time.
