Confronting Change | *NOW OPEN | DONATE TODAY

Taking “no” for an answer was not an option for the heroes that lined Durham streets in protest in the 1960s.  Help us tell the story of the integration of the Carolina and the people dedicated to making certain their theater, and their community, had equal access for all.

How you can help:

*Come by the theatre Monday-Friday 11AM-2PM and check in at the box office.  Photo ID required.

$25 or more: Donor names will be published in the Carolina Theatre magazine, Show Time.
$50 or more: First 50 donors will receive two tickets to the inaugural screening of the Retro Treasures series on Friday, July 12 -- The Color Purple and To Kill A Mockingbird – including free popcorn and soda!
$100 or more: Donors will be invited to the Civil Rights Exhibit opening party, in addition to above.
$250 or more: Donors will be included on the Donor Wall Listing within the Exhibit, in addition to above.
For gifts of $500+, $1,000+, or $2,500+, donors will receive a quarter-page, half-page, or full page greeting, respectively, in the commemorative Exhibit Book, to be distributed at the Exhibit opening, in addition to above.
$5,000 or more: Donors will be the exclusive sponsor of one of the exhibit walls, in addition to the recognition listed above.  To honor your support, we will give you a framed image of "your wall" to commemorate how you helped make history at the Carolina Theatre.

A Century Downtown | NOW OPEN!
A look at the Carolina Theatre and the artists and films that have appeared over the years. The launching point for the self-guided tour, this exhibit shows how the theater and downtown Durham have evolved over time.

A tribute to the dedicated volunteers of the 1970s and 1980s, this exhibit will tell the story of Connie Moses and her quest to resurrect and restore the Carolina Theatre and the ballroom that bears her name.

Interested donors may call Treat Harvey at 919-560-3040 x223 for more information.
