R&B SINGER/SONGWRITER CHRISETTE MICHELE TO PERFORM AT THE CAROLINA THEATRE

DURHAM, N.C. - Grammy winning sultry jazz R&B vocalist CHRISETTE MICHELE will perform Wednesday, March 3 at 8 p.m., at the Carolina Theatre located at 309 W. Morgan Street in downtown Durham. Tickets are $35, $29 and $30 for Star Members.  Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, November 20 at 11 a.m. at the Carolina Theatre box office. Box office hours are weekdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., weekends from 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to shows. Tickets are also available by calling (919) 560-3030 or online at www.carolinatheatre.org

Fusing today's top musical beats with her classy jazz voice, Michele has been the most buzzed about artist of the year. Born in Central Islip, New York and raised in Patchogue, Michele quickly found her place in the music world by singing with her church gospel choir. Michele attended Five Towns College to mature her vocals and unique style, reminiscing artists like Esther Philips, Ella Fitzgerald, Macy Gray and Erykah Badu.

Featured on several popular hip-hop albums for artists Jay-Z, Nas and Ghostface Killer, Michele eventually launched her own album, I Am in 2007. Her debut album included four chart topping singles, "If I Have My Way," "Best of Me," "Be Ok" and "Love Is You." In addition, "Be Ok," went on to win Michele the Grammy for Best Urban/Alternative Performance. Her sophomore album, Epiphany, released in 2009, only strengthened her abilities as a top R&B soul performer. The lead single of the same name, constructed by Ne-Yo and Chuck Harmony, highlights an emotional heartbreak in a beautifully sung masterpiece.
