Women's North American Shorts

Great things often come in small packages, and short films have always been a large part of the Festival package. NCGLFF 2016 brings the best North American short films to the big screen. Canada: Six months into a dual surrogate pregnancy for two gay couples, one of the babies dies in utero. When Sophie and Della realize they may not be able to conceive again, they ask to keep the remaining child for themselves, fracturing the arrangement the four friends once had in Benjamin. United States: When two broke 20-somethings visit a fortune-teller, conjoined crystal balls and queer pop songs open up new spaces in Golden Golden. How can trying to do something so good turn out so wrong in Happy F-ing Valentine's Day. I Like Femme Lesbians chronicles a day in the life of Mara, who struggles with grabbing the attention of the femme lesbians she's attracted to. A woman experiences an unexpected memory of a first kiss in Infinite Rose. When a lesbian couple discovers they're pregnant, they must come to terms with the fact that they may be carrying the second coming of Jesus in Mothers of God. In Robots: A Love Story, an intergalactic Marshal and her inept partner travel to Planet Harrison to retrieve two renegade lesbian robots. Getting a second chance when you pursue the woman of your dreams can be a real dream come true in Queen of Hearts. Tensions rise when a woman and her wife ask her brother to the sperm donor of their baby...or the uncle...or the Spunkle!
