Simpson star as three astronauts who hesitantly agree to spare the U.S. government embarrassment by faking their historic landing on Mars.  When a scheming mission controller (Hal Holbrook) plots to kill the astronauts in a “tragic accident,” the trio embarks on a dangerous mission to expose the truth!  Meanwhile, a journalist (Elliott Gould) is getting suspicious and every clue he uncovers seems to result in an attempt on his life!  Co-starring Karen Black, Telly Savalas, David Doyle and Brenda Vaccaro.
