NIGHT OF THE COMET & TEEN WITCH

Double Feature

NIGHT OF THE COMET (PG-13, 1984, 95 min)

Catherine Mary Stewart and Kelli Maroney are a pair of San Fernando Valley girls who find themselves alone after the arrival of Halley's Comet reduces their affluent community---and most of Los Angeles---to dust. Their subsequent nonstop shopping spree is soon interrupted by predatory zombies, as well as a sinister scientific cabal (Mary Woronov and Geoffrey Lewis) with designs on the girls. Stewart and Maroney are terrifically game as the heroines, and Rober Beltran is also on hand as a fellow survivor and romantic lead.

TEEN WITCH (PG-13, 1989, 90 min)

Most teenagers dream of having the power to make anything happen. According to local mystic Madame Serena (Zeldda Rubinstein), that's just what's going to happen to Louise (Robyn Lively) on her 16th birthday when she receives her powers as a witch. The once shy and unpopular Louise takes full advantage of her new abilities and is soon enjoying being the most popular girl in school, dating the star of the football team (Dan Gauthier), and terrorizing a particularly insensitive teacher (Shelley Berman).
