Mister Roberts & No Time for Sergeants
(1955, 123 min)
Henry Fonda stars as the chief cargo officer of the supply ship Reluctant. WW2 is in its last few months, and Roberts is itching for combat duty. But the Reluctant's captain (James Cagney) refuses to sign Roberts' transfer requests. Helping to brighten Roberts' humdrum existence are his best friends, Ensign Pulver (Jack Lemmon) and the ship's doctor (William Powell, in his final film appearance).
NO TIME FOR SERGEANTS
(1958, 119 min)
Georgia farm boy Will Stockdale (Andy Griffith) is about to burst with pride. He’s been drafted. Will’s ready but is Uncle Sam ready for Will? Wearing a friendly, wide grin, he ambles into the U.S. Air Force and lots of folks will never be the same. They include a big-city bruiser (Murray Hamilton) and a jittery aptitude tester (Don Knotts).
