Junk | NCGLFF 2019
Southern Showcase Selection

THEMES: Comedy | Drama | Gay | Musical | NC Connection

Filmed in North Carolina and directed by North Carolina native, Michael Penny, Junk is a musical! Outrageous, hysterical and at times, heartbreaking, Junk is the story of two unlikely gay companions, one of them young and virile, constantly searching Grindr for his next conquest, and Miss Lily, considerably older with a lifetime of accumulated eccentricity...both of whom sell items at a Raleigh flea market.  They are offered the contents of the dilapidated house of a recently deceased individual and find nothing but a massive stash of vintage ghostly porn.  As they sort through this debris, they also sort through their tortured friendship, pausing from their bitchery only long enough to break into outlandish musical numbers.  Yes, it really is a musical!  It is now presented on the screen with the acclaimed members of its original cast, Tym Moss and Robbie Wayne and directed by Michael Penny.
