Frenzy & Road Games

Alfred Hitchcock’s FRENZY

(R, 1972, 116 min)

Hitchcock's penultimate film stars Jon Finch, Alec McCowen and Barry Foster in a morbid blend of horror and wit.  Finch plays a down-on-his-luck Londoner who is offered some help by an old pal. In fact, Foster is a serial killer known as the Necktie Murdererand he's framing Finch. Which leads to a classic Hitchcock situation: a guiltless man is forced to prove his innocence while eluding Scotland Yard at the same time.

Richard Franklin’s ROAD GAMES

(PG, 1981, 101 min)

One of the best Hitchcockian thrillers of all-time! A truck driver plays cat-and-mouse games with a mysterious serial killer on a desolate Australian highway. Stacy Keach is a trucker who plays games to keep his sanity on long hauls through the Australian Outback. Jamie Lee Curtis is a hitchhiker looking for excitement with a game of her own. And somewhere up ahead is a maniac in a van whose game may be butchering people along the highway.
