Fred Dekker’s THE MONSTER SQUAD & Jim Henson’s THE WITCHES
SCHEDULE CHANGE (10/18/2019): Due to a delivery issue, we are unable to screen Jim Henson's The Witches as the second feature of tonight's Retro Film Series (after The Monster Squad). We'll be replacing The Witches with John Carpenter's The Thing (1982).
While we can't offer half-refunds for tonight, we will give anyone who has bought tickets in advance a free cinema pass to redeem at a later date. You can also stick around to watch Kurt Russell, Keith David and Wilford Brimley battle aliens in Antarctica.
We intend to reschedule The Witches screening at a later date. Keep your ticket stub from tonight; we'll honor them at any rescheduled date for The Witches.
Fred Dekker’s THE MONSTER SQUAD (PG-13, 1987, 82 min)
Count Dracula escapes Van Helsing and adjourns to modern-day America, accompanied by Frankenstein's Monster, the Wolfman, the Mummy and the Black Lagoon's Gil Man. These ghouls are in search of a powerful amulet that will grant them power to rule the world. Now, there’s only one thing stopping them from world domination: A group of young kids who are devoted to protecting their suburban neighborhood from monsters.
Jim Henson’s THE WITCHES (PG, 1990, 92 min)
From the great Muppet creator Jim Henson comes this classic bursting with enchantment and adventure. Academy Award winner Anjelica Huston stars as the Grand High Witch in this fable of a nine-year-old boy who arrives at an English seaside hotel where the Royal Commission for Prevention of Cruelty to Children is holding a convention, and discovers that its members are not charity workers but wicked witches who plan to turn all children into mice…starting with him.
