Radio One Family Comedy Show

Saturday, July 14 | 7:00 pm

“Don’t miss the one and only Marcus Wiley! Plus DL Henry, Veda Howard and Small Fire!  The Family Comedy Tour July 14th Carolina Theatre…it’s good, clean, family comedy! Presented by Radio One and”

Marcus D. Wiley is a premiere entertainer whose class of comedy surpasses the status quo. Deeply rooted in old-time religion he offers a contemporary flair on Christian living.  Wiley is best known for his masterful composure of music that moves your heart and truths that stir your soul with a signature style laced in laughter. This co-host of the Yolanda Adams Morning Show and Texas Southern University professor proves life is a journey best spent with a smile, and he’s sure to bring many along the way.

Veda Howard was born with humor flowing through her veins. Initially clueless of this gift, she would often wonder why people were laughing at her when she was merely trying to communicate basic information. When a coworker approached her revealing she dreamed that Veda was on stage at a comedy club and the entire audience was laughing, she realized it was over her head. The coworker was unaware but, a few months prior, Veda was actually on stage for the first time at the exact comedy club mentioned in the dream.  In addition to her love of laughter, Veda is also a gifted vocalist. She performed on Oprah Winfrey’s 2007 “My Favorite Things” episode with a gospel choir singing background for Warner Bros. recording artist, Josh Groban. Veda’s voice can be heard on jingles and voice over work.  Raised in southern New Jersey, Veda Howard is a graduate of Hampton University and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Sylvia “Small Fire” Moore formerly known as “Small Frie” was born in Drew, Mississippi and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 14. Not long after her journey through high school and junior college she started her career as a comedienne. Dedicating her life to God has led her to change her moral approach towards comedy. All of the animation, energy and aggressiveness from her club days are still there but her show’s themes now revolve around the church and family values. “I believe the comedy ministry is mostly received because it’s not forced. You’re laughing and before you know it something just slipped in your spirit.” Small Fire has been blessed to appear on well known comedy shows and entertainment programs such as: TBN, Bobby Jones Gospel, Word Network, Vibe, Wayans’ Brothers Show, Showtime At The Apollo, Def Comedy Jam, B.E.T.’s Lift Every Voice and Comic View. She also appeared in the Disney Movie The First Kid with comedian Sinbad.

DL Henry will be in the movie Growing Up Laughing With Eddie Murphy.  This man is hilariously funny.  He’s been wrecking stages everywhere he goes – Stellar Awards, Williams Brothers’ Anniversary Cruise, Smokie Norful Total Praise Tour, Joplin Missouri Tornado Comedy Relief Tour, Cruising for Christ with Vanessa Bell Armstrong & Melvin Williams,  Love & Laughter Tour, Healing for the Soul Tour, Three Fool’s for The Lord Tour and a host of many more.  Everyone loves the comedy style of Funny Man, Big Man, DL Henry.
