An Evening with Sarah Vowell: October 9
The Durham County Library presents

An Evening with Sarah Vowell, American Historian

With David Rees
Monday, October 9 | 7PM

The Durham County Library is pleased to present our special Durham Reads Together 2017 headliner event! Sarah Vowell is the New York Times’ bestselling author of six nonfiction books on American history and culture. Ms. Vowell’s presentation will be an interview format with humorist, cartoonist, and artisanal pencil sharpener, David Rees. There will be a book signing following the presentation.

This free event is made possible by the generous support of the Durham Library Foundation.

By examining the connections between the American past and present, Ms. Vowell offers personal, often humorous accounts of everything from presidents and their assassins to colonial religious fanatics, as well as thoughts on American Indians, utopian dreamers, pop music and the odd cranky cartographer. Her most recent book is entitled Lafayette in the Somewhat United States. She is also the voice of teen superhero Violet Parr in The Incredibles, a Pixar Animation Studios film.
