Join the American Underground for a special screening of "The Best of Enemies" at the historic Carolina Theatre of Durham on Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m.! NOTE: The American Underground will cover the cost of all who RSVP and attend this event.

The film follows the unlikely friendship of Ann Atwater, a Durham civil rights activist, and C.P. Ellis, a former Ku Klux Klan member, as the two overcome hatred and distrust to form a bond and lead the desegregation of Durham public schools in 1971.

The screening is in support of the Durham Public Schools Foundation. Durham Public Schools Foundation is an independent 501(C)(3) nonprofit that unites our DPS school communities, public and private-sector resources and community leaders around strategies to strengthen Durham Public Schools.

American Underground is asking attendees to consider making a $5 donation that can be made in-person before or after the screening, OR on the DPSF website.
