Fair Game

A fascinating glimpse into the dark corridors of political power, Fair Game is a riveting drama inspired by the experiences of real-life undercover CIA officer Valerie Plame, whose career was destroyed and her marriage strained to its limits when her covert status was exposed by a White House press leak.

Mademoiselle Chambon

Jean leads a pretty ordinary life : he spends his days happily between his construction sites and his house, with his loving wife and son. He feels comfortable in this routine. One day, as he’s picking up Jérémy from school, he stumbles upon Mademoiselle Chambon, his son’s teacher. She’s discreet, elegant, mesmerizing, in a way completely foreign to his environment. This chance encounter will be a turning point in his well organized life. An opportunity to change or a folly to regret...

In French w/Eng. subtitles.

Dir. Stephane Brize, France, 2010, NR, 101min

Thank You Friends, Big Star's Third Live: April 21

Building on a concept that started with a tribute concert in Chapel Hill in 2010, a score of talented musicians — including sole surviving Big Star member Jody Stephens, Mike Mills [R.E.M.], Mitch Easter [Let’s Active], Chris Stamey [the dB’s], Skylar Gudasz and more — came together in California in April of 2016 to play songs from the 1978 album Third by Big Star in honor of the band’s late guitarist/songwriter Alex Chilton.

Robert Randolph: May 16

Many musicians claim that they "grew up in the church," but for Robert Randolph that is literally the case. The renowned pedal steel guitarist, vocalist and songwriter led such a cloistered childhood and adolescence that he heard no secular music while growing up. If it wasn't being played inside of the House of God Church in Orange, New Jersey--quite often by Robert and members of his own family, who upheld a long but little known gospel music tradition called sacred steel--Randolph simply didn't know it existed.
